Around 10,000 people got involved in roadshows, events and meetings during the 16-week consultation which ran from 30 November 2009 - 22 March 2010. Events included:
Roadshows – twenty-five roadshow events were held across north east London in hospitals, shopping centres, libraries, supermarket and hospital car parks and major transport hubs. NHS staff and clinicians were on hand to provide information about local NHS services, and our proposals for change. People were also able to provide feedback at these events via a video booth.
Public meetings – primary care trusts held several public meetings in each borough. Public meetings were usually large meetings at which presentations were given by NHS staff and clinicians with opportunities to ask questions and give feedback. For information on these events please contact your local PCT – see useful links.
NHS staff events – specific events were held for NHS staff in PCTs and hospitals which gave information on the impact of the proposals for staff, and provided opportunities to ask questions and make views known.
Meetings of local groups – we also attended meetings held by Local Involvement Networks (LINks), community groups, local partner organisations and voluntary organisations to talk more about the Health for north east London consultation proposals.
